A Small Victory at Anna's Program
Wednesday, October 24, 2012 by pam

Small victories. We'll take what we can get. Here's what happened; the powers that be have decided the employee who believes our children are "damaged" will not be coming back to Anna's program. They are transferring her somewhere else, where she'll work with other "damaged" kids. Go figure. But at least she won't be near Anna. Especially as I've learned about her remarks after Anna, who had been a handful that day, had a seizure and this employee said, "Good. It was going to either her or me."

Seriously.

But the fight for our kids goes on. The assistant to the executive director has been caught lying and no one seems to care. The new director for Anna's program was not told a thing about the problem/hornets' nest he's just walked into. The kids are ALL acting out, missing Lyn, and upset there are two strangers in their program. The assistant is there to make sure things are going smoothly, while in reality, she's making it worse.

This could have all been avoided if the powers that be would have thought of the kids instead of themselves. This has happened in two of the three schools Anna attended over the years. It's sickening. Why doesn't anyone have common sense? If they hadn't dismissed Lyn a week early, she could have been there to help the new director transition in with the program and the kids. It took myself and two adults to get Anna on the bus yesterday morning.

Why don't administrators think of the special people they're in charge of instead of only themselves? Where is the courtesy and concern for the families? How do these people get these jobs?

Thank God this life isn't all there is.

Thanks, Barb ... the sad truth is that she has been working there for five years. I'm thankful Anna doesn't have to be exposed to her any more.

Pam, I am praying for my special girlfriend and the people in charge. They cannot see from our prespective nor we from theirs. So glad that the employee in question is beig moved. God knew not to give her a special child.

Thanks, Candy - we had a hard time getting Anna on the bus again this morning.

Excellent overview of this sad situation. Pleased for Anna. Will be praying for the other kids who are being subjected to this inexcusable attitude.
